The Process Model
You can’t wear all five futures glasses at the same time or the future will remain unclear and confusing. You need to put your futures glasses on one after the other, so that a work process develops. In the process model, you need two further steps in addition to the five futures glasses.
An endless amount of future knowledge exists in people’s minds, in studies, books, magazines, databases and, of course, in the Internet. You need to identify and evaluate the relevant future knowledge at the beginning of your future management process. We refer to this work stage as the "FutureRadar" and put it before the five futures glasses.
Your process model only appears to have a beginning and an end at first sight. In reality it is a recurrent process. Close your process model with a phase which we call "institutionalization" and implement a permanent future management process.
You now have a thought process, which leads you past all important future questions and all types of scenario and which has proven its value in more than a thousand projects in all kinds of companies and organizations.
