Are there promising examples in which artificial intelligence can help people in medicine?
The NHS, the British healthcare system, recently conducted a major study together with two companies and has already published parts of it. As part of this study, an intelligent stethoscope was evaluated. Four electrodes were attached to the patients' chests. In the background, an AI learned and was trained during the examinations to detect heart failure. At the end of the study, the system was able to detect heart failure within 15 seconds, with a sensitivity of 90 percent. So out of 100 patients, heart failure was correctly identified in 90 cases.
